Product Introduction

Stellite 700 alloy raises the bar for wear- and corrosion-resistant alloys. They offer a unique combination of outstanding wear resistance and superior corrosion resistance in reducing or complex environments.

Stellite 700 alloy is a cobalt-based alloy with chromium and molybdenum as the primary alloying elements. The unique combination of wear and corrosion properties results from the high volume fraction of carbide particles and the high degree of solid solution strengthening brought about by the addition of molybdenum. STELLITE 700 alloy has been particularly successful in petrochemical and refinery applications such as delayed coker heater return lines, catalyst recovery lines and transfers, and FCC feed and regenerator air and grid nozzles. It is also a good choice for valve seats, slides and general flow control applications where corrosion and wear are key considerations. 700 Series alloys have a wide range of applications where high levels of wear and corrosion are present.

Stellite 720 coating uses a proprietary UltraFlex™ process to apply this extremely wear- and corrosion-resistant alloy to the surfaces of complex and non-line-of-sight components. Stellite 720 can also be used as an additive manufacturing component.

Stellite 700 alloy is based on the traditional Stellite grades 6, 12, 3 and 20, but the tungsten has been replaced by molybdenum. This allows them to maintain hardness and wear resistance while significantly improving corrosion resistance in reducing environments. 700 series alloys are more brittle than equivalent conventional Stellite alloys.

Available product forms:

Stellite 700 series alloys are available as powder metallurgy components, welding rods, wires and powders.

Stellite 706, 712 and 703 are available as castings.

Stellite 720 is available as an UltraFlex coating and additive manufacturing component.
