Product Introduction

Stellite cobalt-based alloys consist of complex carbides in the alloy matrix. They are resistant to abrasion, abrasion and corrosion and retain these properties at high temperatures. Its excellent wear resistance is mainly attributed to the unique inherent properties of the hard carbide phase dispersed in the CoCr alloy matrix.

 

Stellite 1 has excellent wear and corrosion resistance and is suitable for applications such as pump casings, rotating seal rings, wear pads, secondary impeller screws and bearing bushings. It maintains its hardness at temperatures in excess of 760°C (1400°F).

 

Stellite 1 contains a high proportion of hard, wear-resistant primary carbides. These make the alloy ideal for applications involving very small angle attack and severe wear, but at the expense of some toughness. It is more susceptible to cracking than other Stellite alloys and care should be taken to minimize the cooling stresses experienced during casting and case hardening. Due to its high hardness and wear resistance, Stellite 1 can only be finished by grinding.
