Stellite 12 is a cobalt-based alloy known for its excellent wear resistance, high temperature performance and corrosion resistance. It is part of the Stellite family of alloys developed by Deloro Stellite Group, which is now a division of Kennametal. Stellite alloys are widely used in applications where components are subject to severe wear, such as cutting tools, valves, and components in the aerospace and oil and gas industries. Specifically, Stellite 12 is typically used in high-temperature, high-stress environments where other materials may fail. Its composition typically includes cobalt, chromium, tungsten and carbon, with the exact composition varying depending on specific application requirements.
